VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTIONS

Greeter
Greet and direct all participants.

Registration
  • Assist community by distributing and collecting registration cards, provide name badge, hand out programs, schedule appointments for on-site counseling and services, and provide customer service.
  • Assist exhibitors with on-site registration, finalize pending details, accept final payments, handout exhibitor name badges, and provide customer service.
  • Assist volunteers with sign-in, hand out name badge, and direct volunteer training for brief event overview, and provide customer service.

Trouble Shooter
Serve as communications liaison for the registration desk and the committees by providing continuous updates of the scheduled appointments. Provide support to registration and committees if needed.

Credit Café
Support participants in the computer lab as they access credit information; facilitate scheduling of appointments to meet with credit counselors.

Exhibitor Relations
Provide support and guidance for booth location and setup for exhibitors and serve as liaison to the event planner and planning team. Maintain appearance of the exhibitor area.

Pre-Event Setup and Support
Provide assistance with the event setup, signage, exhibitor table assignments, electricity to exhibitor tables, and provide support to exhibitors and planning team as needed.

Workshop Support
Assist workshop presenters/facilitators with the distribution of materials; direct participants to appropriate workshops.

Post-Event Break
Breakdown event tables, and all other supplies used for the event. Prepare these items for pickup. Assist exhibitors and planning team as needed.

Youth Zone
Assist with setup, maintaining order, organization, security and safety of the youth zone area. Recruit Power Buck game participants; circulate throughout Money Power Day with Power Buck questions for youth.

**Please note, we will do our best to accommodate task assignments, but volunteers may be asked to assist with other tasks as necessary.**

Volunteer Training Sessions: Volunteer training sessions will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 from 12:00 pm − 1:00 pm at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, 1400 W. Coldspring Lane; Wednesday, March 11, 2009 from 12:00 pm − 1:00 pm by conference call, and Thursday, March 12, 2009 from 6:00 pm − 7:00 pm at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, 1400 W. Coldspring Lane. We encourage all volunteers to attend the "Money Power Day" event training session. This training session will prepare you for your volunteer role and responsibilities on the day of the event.
